Running - Poem by Lahnee A.

The wind whips my face
His mane streaming

We run together through the fields of corn

We are one body
Muscles churning
Pumping faster
Neither mind more dominant than the other

Until it ends

We slow to a walk
He stops
at a cue from my leg

the feeling is gone
we're no longer connected
he's docile
quiet
obedient

I sigh and we turn
Head back to the barn
