Some Cross For To Bear - Poem by Francis Duggan

Those who know of a sorrow free existence to say the least rare
Few go through life without some cross to bear
Though time is the great healer as the wise one does say
Sad memories with you for your lifetime does stay
Weeping for one you will never more see
Is part of grief's healing process would you not agree?
From the grieving process mental strength we may gain
But sadly the sad memories of loss with us does remain
Some people with grief are not known to cope
For a happier future they lose out on hope
From their grief they could not find anywhere to hide
Which led them to die in the act of suicide
Those who have not known of grief to say the least rare
Few go through life without some cross for to bear.
