On A Trip Home - Poem by Lors Dilouley

i am on a journey.
memory after memory
stimulates my cerebral cortex.
i am passing a building.
feelings grip my body
and surge me back to that place.

home. this is my home.
or at least it was...
the places i have known
pass my window.
i can only look out and remember.
my past tries to stare me in the face,
but i have closed my eyes and fled.

but here i am back again.
and the memories come.
they knock at the peak of my mind
and i let them in.
for this land is my home,
and it calls my name.
