Diphthong (Efface) - Poem by L'Angley S Delmonte

To be completely honest with you
I'll never be able to be
Completely honest.

It's pure pleasure
To be missing
The general properties
Of the human nature

Except for the one con
Wondering if there are
Others like you

You think
Well
Wow
I could do anything.
Lying to the people
You claim to love
Opens up so many
Career opportunities

It's
So
Simple
Don't
You
Understand?

There are two colours
Red
And
Blue
Now
I'm not entirely sure
Which means evil
And which means knowledge
So make it easy
Find a spinning
Likeness
Of earth
And paint all the states red and blue

Respectively

I know you won't want to
Hear
'this'
So okay, I won't tell you
Maybe you wouldn't
Understand
Bliss
And
Deep
Breathing
Maybe you've never
Been able to stop and
Breathe deeply
But can't you agree you'd want
To be
Happy?

Tell me this ends
When you take the train to California
Leave your friends
And family

There are no such thing
As
Ghosts

Maybe I'm not so charming.
Okay.
I still know the difference between
Right
And
Wrong.
That doesn't mean I do the
Right thing

I also know it's sick
When
I can count every
Bone
In your body
From the outside

Who cares
What I want?
Everybody
Wants
Something
All the time.

They don't need to
Make fancy words
With bad connotations
To say that people want.

They don't need to
Make
Scribbling your shitty
Thoughts onto lined paper
In refined cursive penmanship
To be
Anything
More glorious
Than lying through your teeth

So
Don your cheap dinner jacket
And
Diminuitive ego.
We're leaving.
