Hope - Poem by Kishore Asthana

When the suns are cold and the heavens dark
When planets from their exertions rest
There comes the song of a single lark
Remembering all that was the best
In the ancient music of the spheres
Which through time slowed and slowed
Till, quite unforeseen by the seers
The Universe ends on a beautiful note

At that moment, cold and dark
Resting alone, undecided, unsure
He listens a while to the lark
And rekindles it all,
Once more
