A Postcard To God - Poem by Daegal

I think I’d choose a scenic place,
With sunshine on a smiling face,
And in the glowing daylight’s grace
Their happy eyes in warmth’s embrace.

I’d scrawl away the cheerful scene
And make the canvas all but clean,
From the bounteous unseen
I’d show the things all dark and mean.

There’d be a soldier with a spear,
Skewered on another’s fear,
I’d sign it off with blood and tear
With: God, I wish you were here.

End.
