To start my day I make my bed
Prepare myself for what's ahead.
Yesterday a memory
No longer needs my energy.
I concentrate on what is new
To give myself a different view.
Each day I strive to make the grade

Childish Ways
When I was very young,
Childish ways existed.
As I matured the child left.
It put up no resistance.
It left behind a special place
Where I do my reminiscing.
Now I'm old and gray
I hear my grandkids say,
“ Papa I want to play”.
My childish ways return.
