Treading lightly across the silken floor,
The lass came knocking upon his broken door.
Drenched in the stormy winter's hail,
She trembled; her visage dim and pale.

Her angst she poured out on to his humble ears,
Like pearls of dew, her cheek held a few solitary tears.
