Stunned, silent gasps as the light grows dim.
Unseen, unknown.
The cold, dirty grazes on a layer of skin;
Unneeded, repeated..

Infinitely, in fact.
You told me your senses had come to call;
You were now, somewhat, intact.
The slither up your back had made you crawl

One Autumn's day, the rays of
Sun shone brightly on my skin;
They seeped within, engulfed my
Soul in a gentle stream; warm and shallow.
Although sallow, it could not stain.

A smile caressed my alien visage,
Illuminated the rigid crevice;
Dark no more.
I wore this newfound sense of calm . . .
