Poems about lonely - Cold And Lonely

Cold And Lonely - Poem by Buxton Shippy

Mister Non-violent
Is cold and lonely:
No war-party invitations
Or explosions,
To keep him dry.

Says he's bad for business;
Cause, war-ships must go sailing.
And
If senseless slaughtering ceases
What other vocation is there?

So, they refused to sleep
And paint the territory red.

Even the young are drafted;
Taught to hate and lie.
Fully persuaded
And not afraid to die.
